Show and tell sunday: trash to treasure

I really love this week's theme! I love trash (well, not everything of course!), I love to look about trash everywhere. The thriftshop, the brocante-markets, the attic of my parents and even my own barn! I hardly renew it, because I think the old, shabby look makes it so charming. First I'll welcome you to my hall-way:

This little cabinet I bought a few years ago, I think my hubby was in shock! He thought I was going crazy and for him it was just a piece of trash, but I'm still in love with it!
It's a lovely display for all my other "junk"! My wedding-hat (next week 11 years old!), a few pair of gloves, and an old purse and matching wallet which belonged to my granny. Oh, I forget the old make-up-purse I showed you a few posts ago.

This statue I bought last vacation in Belgium. It was heavy to carry, but I think she was worth it! Her nose is a little bit broken, but I don't care, I love her anyway! This painting I bought for only 2 euros at another market. Sorry for this blurry picture, it's a nasty spot to take pictures.
This little bench I also bought a few years ago, I think it's so cute!

And now some pics of the kitchen (yes, I've trash everywhere!):

Oude cakevormen...

Old cake-molds....

.... nog meer oude cakevormen...

.. more old cakemolds....

On the shelves almost only old pieces, like this glass-holder.......

en oude blikken...

and old tins.....

My latest buy: the softblue plates and bowl. You already met miss Tea-cosy, the little jar I bought last year.

This are my "new" kitchen-chairs. The man who helped me was almost ashamed to sell them to me. He chuckled and said: oh with a little sanding and some paint they'll become really nice chairs! You only have to give 5 euros and they're all yours!
I played the game, of course, but could hardly get that smile of my face! The man would get an attack, if he knew I placed them in my kitchen just the
way they are!

Nu, rommel (trash klinkt trouwens veel leuker!) in mijn slaapkamer:
Now, trash in my sleepingroom:

This cabinet almost falls apart, but I like it! I love this cute nightgown. On top of the closet there are a few cane suitcases, also from far-off days.....
This nightstand is new actually, but with a shabby look. The books on the other hand, are old. So old they're almost loosing their cover.

Overal blikken, zelfs in de slaapkamer! Is ze niet prachtig?
And tins everywere! Even in my bedroom! Isn't she beautiful?

Okay, one picture of my livingroom, but I've showed you already so much of this room lately. But I think these tins and the blue jar are sóóóó lovely, so here they are again! And shabby they are! A little bit rusty, but beautiful nevertheless!
Shabby outside! The wooden water-butt we got (almost!) 11 years ago from our friends on our weddingday. The pink wooden chair I bought on a brocante-market last year. Oud zink voor m'n plantjes...
Old sink for my plants.....

... the table is just a few years old, but it looks it stands here for ages! The flowerpots are made of led by a very handy craftsman.

Well, I could showing and telling about this subject for hours and hours, but I 've showed you already so much this last year! Browsing my blog, you'll see more trash to treasure, but I think for today this is enough!

Fijne dag allemaal!

I want to thank Analise from Sugar Sugar for this weeks show and tell! Look at her blog for many more links to trash and treasure!
Have a nice sunday!

Wat gillen; dat is echt hardhout, gniffel! Echt zo'n familietaal uitspraak..

Thanks for sharing your wonderful treasures. My favorites are all of your old cake molds! I have been working on the history of my family and recently traced a branch back to the Netherlands. My second son was named Jacob - I did not know then that I had so many ancestors named Jacob! Your blog is very interesting to me!

Fijne week!

Oh Elly, I adore everything you showed us here. Everything looks so warm and cozy. I love all the shabby white pieces and had to laugh when you said your husband thought you were crazy when you bought that cabinet home. My husband thinks tht about me sometimes too. Like I said, I like all the different shades of white around your house, but then I also loved the red in your kitchen. It is such a happy color, isn't it? Thanks for visiting my blog and I will definitely be back again to visit you!

You've shared some wonderful pictures....very inspiring, as I have a lot of trash to treasure projects to finish!

You are the first blog that I've visited that is written in two different languages....English and Deutsche. I took two years of German in High School and two semesters in college. It has faded in my mind so much over the years, that all I can manage to say is "Wo ist de badenzimmer?" und "Ich bin vier und dreizig yahre alt".....if I'm even doing that right! Thanks for sharing!

Hartelijke groetjes Marja

Elly you have the most beautiful "trash"!! I love it all!! And I truely in love with you wedding hat!!! It is so romantic...I bet you looked beautiful in it.

Leremme zei

Groetjes
