To create or not to create.....

.... that's the question!

Hebben jullie dat nou ook, dat er zoveel is dat je graag wilt doen, dat er uiteindelijk bijna niets uit je handen komt? Dat je je met zoveel overgave op het één stort, dat er van het ander bijna niets terecht komt? Dat er boeken op de plank staan waarbij je nog niet verder bent gekomen dan plaatjes kijken, terwijl je er zoveel uit zou willen maken? Dat er nog een doos vol pakketjes in de kast staat waar je gewoon niet aan toekomt? Dat je een stapel stofjes hebt liggen die er gewoon om schreeuwt om gebruikt te worden, maar dat je er even niet de puf voor hebt?

Welkom in mijn creatieve wereldje!

Ik heb besloten om vanaf nu wat minder tijd aan het één te besteden en iets meer aan het ander, zodat het stapeltje stofjes misschien eindelijk eens slinken zal, dat de boeken ook daadwerkelijk gebruikt gaan worden en dat de doos pakketjes eindelijk eens een bodem inzicht krijgt.

Waarom vind ik nou zoveel leuk.... zucht....?

Do you also have this, that you wanna do so many things, that there´s nothing happening at all? That you do one thing with so much devotion, that you neglect the other? That there are books on your bookshelf in which you´ve only looked at the pictures instead of making things out of it? That you´ve a box full of kits you´re planning to make some day but that that day never comes? That you´ve a pile of fabrics, screaming to be used, but you don´t have the energy?

Welcome to my creative world!

I´ve decided to spend less time to the one and spend more time to the other, so that that pile of fabrics will decrease, the books on the shelves will be used indeed, that the bottom of the box with kits will come in sight.

Why do I like so many things.... sigh....?

Met deze kleine Rudolph heb ik alvast een stapje in de goede richting gezet....

With this little Rudolph I´ve made a little step in the right direction....

Het is gemaakt met het pakketje van atelier Sterre, alleen heb ik er mijn eigen draai aangeven door een rood met witte stippen stofje te gebruiken in plaats van het (eveneens schattige) blauwe stofje en door hem een klein strikje met belletje om z´n nek te geven. Het was een heerlijk werkje om te doen en absoluut niet moeilijk.

Hij was binnen één dag af, terwijl ik ook nog ´s morgens eerst dochter van school moest halen met het PSNSD (Pre-Sint-Nicholaas-Syn-Droom), dat zorgt voor buikpijn en dikke tranen, en terwijl ik ook nog een uurtje later oudste zoon van school moest halen die, zo bleek, zijn pink gebroken had tijdens de gym, zodat we de hele middag doorgebracht hebben op de afdeling radiologie en de gipskamer. Echt een werkje om even bij tot rust te komen na zo´n roerig dagje!

I made it of the kit from Atelier Sterre, only I gave it my own touch by using a red with white polka dots fabric instead of the (also cute) blue one, and by giving him a little bow and jingle bell round his neck. It was a nice little job to do and absolutely not difficult at all.

I made it within one day, while first I had to pick up daughter from school in the morning with the PSNDS (Pre- Sint-Nicholas-Syn-Drome) that causes belly aches and big tears, and while I had to pick up eldest son from school one hour later who had, as turned out to be, broken his little finger during gym, so we spent our whole afternoon at the radiology area and the plaster room. A real rest giving little job after a tumultuous day!




To create or not to create.... well, that decision is an easy one, hey, hey! Happy weekend, live, love and create!

Wat een heerlijke zonnige dag vandaag! Een perfecte ZON-dag! Ik heb jullie weer een hoop te laten zien, dus kom maar mee!

Thriftshop

Vorige week was ik echt een geluksvogel. Ik vond dit geweldige kussen met bijpassende kop en schotel voor slechts 1 euro. Mijn oma (van mijn moeders kant) maakte vroeger ook altijd dit soort kussens. Ik kan het me nog goed herinneren, oma zittend op de bank, terwijl ze hier aan bezig was en het leek me altijd een ontspannend en leuk werkje. Mijn moeder was met me mee toen ik dit kocht en keek me wat meewarig aan. Ik snap niet waarom, haha!!!! Oké meiden, ik begrijp het wel hoor, als jullie soms denken dat ik nu echt gek geworden ben! Maar ik vind dit kussen nou eenmaal gewoon te gek!
Last week I was a lucky girl! I found this great pillow and matching cup and saucer for just 1 euro. My grandma (from my mother's side) used to make cushions like these. I remember her doing this, sitting on the couch, and it always seemed to me it was a relaxing, funny job. My mom was with me when I bought it and she looked a little compassionate to me. I really don't know why, hehehe!!!! Okay girls, I understand if you think I'm going nuts sometimes! But I just love this cushion!

Een paar weken eerder was dit mijn buit en het kostte me niet meer dan 5 euro, kijk zo heb ik het graag! Een Pyrex schaaltje, een oude theedoek, een rozenblik, een schilderijtje van Venetië(ben d'r nog nooit geweest, maar wat geeft het! Vond de afbeelding, de grijzige kleuren en het oude lijstje gewoon leuk) en een geborduurd rozenschilderijtje.

A few weeks before this was my loot and I didn't pay more than 5 euros for it, that's how I like it! A Pyrex dish, an old teatowel, a tin decorated with roses, an image of Venice (never been there, but never mind! Loved the picture and soft greyish colors and the vintage frame) and pretty embroidered roses.

En die past weer precies bij de andere die ik al een hele tijd geleden gekocht had! Mooi zo hè!

And this one matches the other one I bought a long, long time ago, perfectly! Nice hey!

En dit bracht de postbode me van de week: het nieuwste pakketje van Atelier Sterre! Owwww.... vinden jullie ze niet geweldig?!? Dit zijn toch wel de schattigste strandhuisjes die ik ooit heb gezien! De kleurtjes zijn zo lief en zacht en de details zijn, zoals altijd, prachtig!

And this is what the mailman brought me last week: the latest kit of Atelier Sterre! Owwww.... don't you just love them?!? These are the cutest little beach houses I've ever seen! The colors are so sweet and soft and the details are, as ever, gorgeous!

En kijk, ze stuurde ook nog wat kadootjes mee, een aardbeien-broche-pakketje en een piepklein pakje met ienieminie naaldjes. Dank je wel Mirelle!
And look, she also sent me some presents, a strawberry-brooch-kit and a cute little package with very tiny needles. Thanks Mirelle!


COL

Afgelopen donderdagavond hadden we een COL (=croppen-on-line) met de meiden van de Dutch Freestyle Groep. De opdracht was: vertel 5 tot 10 positieve dingen over jezelf en gebruik wat oud spul uit je voorraad. Oud spul is makkelijk, maar zoveel leuke dingen over jezelf een stuk moeilijker! Ik heb m'n kinderen maar om hulp gevraagd en uiteindelijk kwamen ze hier op uit. Ze zeiden ook nog dat ik soms een beetje gek was, maar ik wist nou eigenlijk niet of ik dat als positieve eigenschap moest beschouwen of niet, haha! De grote bloemen had ik al eeuwen, vond ze eigenlijk te groot, maar ik vind het uiteindelijk best wel leuk staan zo! De vlinders zijn transparant en heb ik nagetekend op oud muziekpapier en dat bewerkt met gesso en gele brilliance inkt en eronder geplakt.

Last Thursday night we had a COL (= croppen-on-line) with the girls of the Dutch Freestyle Group. The assignment was: tell 5 till 10 positive things about yourself and use some old stuff from your stash.

Old stuff is easy, but so many nice things about yourself is hard! I asked my kids for help, and this is what they came up with. They also said I'm a little crazy so now and than, but I didn't know this was a possitive quality or not, hey, hey! I had the big flowers for ages, always thought they were to big, but now I like them, I think it turned out very well!
The butterflies are transparent and I drawn them also on an old music sheet and edited it with gesso and yellow brilliance ink and glued them under the transparent ones.

Rond de vilten Fancy Pants bloemen heb ik een randje geborduurd, deze had ik ook al heel lang liggen. Ik moet dit soort l.o.'s vaker maken! Ruimt lekker op!

I embroidered the Fancy Pants felt flowers, I also had these for a long time. I must do this kind of l.o.'s more often! It cleans up my drawers a little bit!

Number 13: childhood

A little translation: I have mostly nice memories of my childhood. I was a quiet girl, not shy but always waiting to see wich way the cat jumps. As eldest of 4 girls and with parents who owned their own business I learned at early youth what the meaning of responsibilty was. We had not much money, but I've never noticed it. We went camping in France, at Sinterklaas (dutch Santa) there were always plenty of presents and we wore fashionable clothes. We learned to work for little extra's and so we learned the value of money. There was always room for friends to stay at our home, everything was possible!

Some things I loved to do: reading, playing with Barbie (well, not the real one of course, but the cheaper Daisy!), building sheds, playing with my friends, knitting with grandma B., getting candies from grandma M., learning and cuting and pasting.

Number 14: spring is in the air

Little translation: I love spring, love the fresh green, the days getting longer and warmer, the first sunbeams. It gives me so much energy after the long and dark winterdays!


Workshop

Totaal onverwachts kreeg ik deze workshop kado! Owwww... ik was er helemaal opgewonden van! Afgelopen vrijdagavond ben ik naar Simpel Scrappen geweest om deze workshop te volgen van Trisha Ladouceur. En het was super, echt helemaal geweldig! Trisha is ontzettend aardig en alle spulletjes waren te gek! Mooi Prima papier, bloemen en lekker veel bling! We gebruikten Glimmermist om de witte bloemen mee te bewerken en Stickles om de letters mee op te pimpen. Het album dat we gebruikten had dikke bladen met daartussen doorzichtige, verwijderbare sheets. Dus zo kon je de bladen makkelijk bekleden en dan later de sheets er weer tussen schuiven.

Totally unexpected I got this workshop as a present! OMG... I was so thrilled! Last friday evening I went to Simpel Scrappen to follow this class from Trisha Ladouceur.

And it was great, absolutely great! Trisha is a lovely person and all the goodies were yummie! Gorgeous Prima papers, flowers and lots of bling! We used Glimmermist to spray the white flowers and we used Stickles to pimp up the words. The album we used has thick pages with removable sheets in between. So it's easy to cover your pages and later on you put the sheets back.

Ik vond het geweldig leuk om dit album te maken! Trisha en Carla hardstikke bedankt voor deze heerlijke avond!

Ha, en ik won nog een paar prijzen, wat een bofkont ben ik hè! Eerst deze tube met Prima bloemen en later dit prachtige pakket papier en rub ons van Black River Design.

Ha, and I won a few prices, lucky me! First this tube of Prima flowers, and next this beautiful package full of patterned papers and rub ons from Black River Designs.

En natuurlijk was ik weer de laatste die de winkel verliet! Maar ik moest gewoon nog wat dingen kopen, zoals dit prachtige rose album, wat papier van Cloud 9, een schattig blikje Prima bloemen en alpha stickertjes. Ze verkopen nu ook allerlei supermooi kant, maar nu heb ik het alleen bij dit zacht blauwe gelaten. De rest komt nog wel een keertje! Ik ben tenslotte kant-verslaafd, weten jullie nog?!?

Jullie begrijpen, ik had een heerlijke week!

But I had to buy a few things, like this gorgeous pink album, some patterned papers from Cloud 9, a cute tin filled with Prima flowers and alpha stickers. They have the most gorgeous lace for sale now in the shop, but for now I choose the soft blue one. I'll buy the rest later! I'm a lace-addict, do you remember?!?

You understand, I had a great week!

Finished projekts

Finished felt
Ik vond het pakketje zo ontzettend leuk, dat ik er van de week toch aan begonnen ben, ik kon het niet laten! Zelfs het ei en het hart heb ik er bij gemaakt. Het is weer een zeer gedetailleerd en heerlijk patroon om mee te werken.
I loved the kit so much, I couldn't resist to start! Even the egg and little heart I've already made. And again it's a very detailled and lovely pattern to work with.

En dit is nu echt de laatste keer hoor, dat ik deze takken laat zien! Voordat jullie denken, heb je haar weer! Maar nu zijn alle vilten huisjes af, de vogelflat heb ik als laatste gemaakt.

This will be the last time I show these branches, I promise! I hope you're not tired of it already! But I finished the bird-flat, so all the houses are done.

Nummer 9: sport

Journaling: I'm not a sporty kind of girl. I've tried different kind of things, but the only things I liked were jazz ballet and aerobics, dancing on funky music. I loved, and still love, to dance.

Nummer 10: trust

Journaling: 100 % Trust in my family. I hope this will never, never be harmed. Sometimes I trust people too easy, and this is not always rightly, and oh boy that hurts!

You've got mail

Van de week kreeg ik de stofjes en Tilda spulletjes binnen die ik bij Gepke van Your Zoap had besteld. De stof met de grote rozen is voor achter het kippengaas bij de deur in de hal (zie m'n vorige post). Ik vind 'em echt helemaal fantastisch! Net als het andere stofje trouwens, met z'n lieve roosjes, helemaal mijn kleurtjes! Ik kan jullie echt aanraden om eens in haar webwinkel te neuzen. Naast mooie stofen verkoopt zij nog véél meer, zoals doe-het-zelf-spulletjes en woonaccessoires.

This week I received the fabrics and Tilda-stuff I ordered at Gepke from Your Zoap. The fabric with the big roses is for the door in my hallway (see last post). I think it's gorgeous! Just like the other fabric with the little roses. Perfectly my colors! I can recommand you to take a look at her shop. She sells lots and lots more!

Met de knipvellen van Tilda ben ik al aan de slag geweest. Ik kan het jullie nog niet laten zien, want het is voor iemand die ook regelmatig op m'n blog meeleest en ik weet niet of zij het inmiddels ontvangen heeft! Maar wat een schattige plaatjes om mee te werken! Ik heb al 1000 en 1 ding in m'n hoofd om er mee te doen!

I used the papers of Tilda already, but I can't show you the results, because it's a gift for someone who reads my blog regularly and I don't know if she has received it already. But these papers are way too cute! I 've a a thousand things in my head to do with it!



Net-Friends

Eén van mijn belangrijkste beweegredenen om me op het net te begeven was toch wel de anonimiteit. Eerst via emailgroepen en pas veel later via het wondere medium bloggen. Maar dat het helemaal niet zo anoniem zou blijven bleek al snel. Er zijn toch altijd mensen waarbij er een klik is. Waarmee je wat vaker mailt en van wie je steeds meer te weten komt, en zij over jou!

One of my mainreasons to join the net was the anonymity. First I joined a few emailgroups, later I discovered the magical world of blogging. But soon it turned out to be not that anonymous at all. There are some people with who you've that special click, with who you mail just a little bit more, so you found out more about them, and they about you!

Eén zo iemand is Monique. Ik ken haar via een poppenhuisgroep waar ik alweer jaren geleden lid van was. Ik heb een paar keer bij haar een workshop gevolgd en ben onlangs bij haar op verjaardag geweest. Mijn kadootje voor haar was een dagje scrappen bij mij thuis, geheel verzorgd. En zij kwam, vorige week vrijdag. En we hebben echt een super gezellige dag gehad. Moon blij met haar eerste echte scrapwerk en ik met het feit dat zij nu ook eindelijk eens weet waar en hoe ik woon en natuurlijk met de leuke kadootjes die ze voor me meebracht. Maar het allerbelangrijkste was natuurlijk gewoon lekker bijkletsen!

Ik kreeg van haar een setje rood met witte stippen bordjes, door iemand zelfgemaakt, en een heleboel kantjes en bandjes. Daar maak je me natuurlijk altijd blij mee!

One of that kind of persons is Monique. I met her at a dollhouse-emailgroup years ago. I followed a few workshops at her place and a few weeks ago I celebrated her birthday at her home. My gift to her was an all-inclusive scrap-day at my place and last Friday she came! We had a great time together and she brought me this lovely gifts. A few red and white polkadotted dishes and lots and lots of ribbon and lace! Oh, do I love that! But the most important thing that day was to chat all day long!

Maar ik kreeg nog meer visite deze week, Mariska kwam afgelopen maandagmiddag even een bakkie bij me doen. Mariska ken ik bijna vanaf het moment dat ik begonnen ben met bloggen en we hebben elkaar ook al eens op een markt en op beurzen in het echt ontmoet. Ook met haar was het gewoon vanaf het begin af aan gezellig en hadden we gespreksstof in overvloed. De middag vloog om en ik ga zeker ook eens een bakkie terughalen!

But I got more visitors this week, Mariska came last monday-afternoon for a cup of tea. I know Mariska from almost the beginning of my blog adventure and we've also met in real live a few times. And also with her it was good from the beginning, we had lots to talk about! And we still have! I'm gonna get a cup of tea at her place for sure one day!

Met de prachtige bos tulpen die ik van haar kreeg neem ik weer afscheid van jullie! Hopelijk is het een voorbode van heerlijk lenteweer!
