A Month Later...

Hemeltje lief... het is al het eind van Augustus... Deze maand was voorbij in een oogwenk... We zijn op vakantie geweest, ik heb mijn projekten gemaakt voor het December-Januari nummer van het ScrapBookMagazine (jááá, jullie lezen het goed, ik sta er weer in, na een hele lange tijd en ik kan je vertellen, ik vind het weer heerlijk!) en de laatste paar dagen ben ik een beetje van slag... Het hele jaar al heb ik elke ochtend last van m'n been, maar na een uurtje of zo verdween dat wel weer, tenminste zo goed als. Maar na onze vakantie was de pijn behoorlijk heftig en dat de hele dag door. Ik slaap er slecht van en je kunt begrijpen dat m'n energiepeil behoorlijk laag is, echt irritant laag. Dus naar de dokter gegaan, conclusie: Ischias... de tijd zal het leren, vooral een beetje rustig aan doen...

O.M.G... it's really the end of August now... This last month was gone in a blink... We went on holiday, I made my projects for the December-January issue of the ScrapBookMagazine (yep, you read it well... I'm in it again, after a long absence, and let me tell you, I enjoy it!) and the last few days I've been a little upset... This whole year my leg hurt every morning but after an hour or so it dissappeared, well, almost. But after our holiday the pain was too heavy, all day long. I'm sleeping very badly and you can understand my energylevel is low, irritating low. So I went to the doctor, conclusion: Ischias... time will tell, I've to take it easy...

Maar goed, de was moest worden gedaan, het huishouden gaat door en bovenal: ik moest al m'n nieuwe brocante aanwinsten van de vakantie natuurlijk een plaatsje geven! Zoals deze sauskom en 2 schalen, de onderste had ik al.

Anyway, the laundry had to be done, householding goes on and above all: I had to store all my new brocante purchases I bought on our holiday! Like this sauce boat and the 2 dishes, the one underneath I had already.

Ik ben een tijdje bezig geweest met dit rek, net zolang totdat ik tevreden was.

I've been playing with these shelves a while until I was satisfied.

Voor een paar Euro kocht ik deze koffiepot (Maastrichts aardewerk) en nog een sauskom (ik denk een Bochje)

This coffepot and another sauce boat I bought for a few Euro's

En voor 1 Euro 18 taartvorkjes, elke verjaardag greep ik mis, dat is nu verleden tijd!

And for 1 Euro 18 cake forks, every birthday I missed my hold, that's past tense now!

Ik wilde eigenlijk alleen deze dingen erbij zetten, maar aan het eind van de rit was zo goed als alles veranderd!

I just wanted to add these few items, but in the end almost everything had changed!

En op deze manier is een huis nooit klaar!

And in this way a home is never finished!

Maar dat vind ik nou juist zo leuk van inrichten!

But that's just what I love about homedecorating!

Ik heb een zwak voor oude, gehaakte spreien en ik was zo gelukkig om tegen deze aan te lopen...

I've a weakness for old, crocheted bedcovers and I was so lucky to find this one...

... maar dit is niet de enige hoor!

...but this is not the only one!

Deze is zóóó zacht en mooi! En dan is er nog eentje, maar die zal ik jullie later nog weleens laten zien.

This one is sóóó soft and beautiful! And there's a third, but I'll show you that one later.

En als ik op de bank zit om m'n been even rust te geven dan borduur ik...

And when I'm sitting on the couch waiting for my leg to feel better I'm embroidering...

... of lees ik heerlijk woonmagazines! Vooral een beetje rustig aan doen weet je! Heeft de dokter zelf gezegd!

... or I'm reading lovely magazines! Take it easy you know! The doctor told me!

New Year, New Chairs, New Finds!

We begonnen het nieuwe jaar met 2 nieuwe stoeltjes (Jenny Lund van Ikea), gekocht van m'n ijverig gespaarde centjes

We started this new year great, with 2 new chairs (Jenny Lund from Ikea), bought from my zealous saved money

En ik ben er helemaal verliefd op!

And I'm in love with them!

Natuurlijk gelijk weer even de kamer op z'n kop, de boom er uit, alles lekker schoongemaakt, weer wat nieuwe plantjes neergezet

Of course, the whole room went upside down, gone with the Christmas tree, cleaned everything, added a few new plants

En de breimand binnen handbereik, een heerlijk werkje voor de lange donkere avonden

And my knitting basket within reach, it's so nice to knit on these long, dark evenings

Ook nog naar de kringloop geweest en daar vond ik dit schattige kannetje

I also went to the thriftstore yesterday, there I found this cute little jug

En deze leuke S.C.M. schaal

And this pretty S.C.M. bowl

En deze lieve kopjes, ook van S.C.M., ben deze nog nooit eerder tegen gekomen.

And these lovely cups, also of S.C.M., I've never seen these before.

Zo is het weer heerlijk genieten van een "nieuw" huisje in een "nieuw" jaar!

So I enjoy my "new" home in this "new" year!

Thrifty Treasures

Ik geloof dat ik jullie niet hoef te vertellen dat ik helemaal gek ben op kringloopschatten! Zo ongeveer m'n hele huis is één grote kringloopschat!

I think I don't have to tell you I lóóóve thrifty treasures! Almost my whole house is a thrifty treasure!

Zoals de dessertlepeltjes die ik België trof, of de oude "Camera Obscura" boekjes die ik vond bij m'n plaatelijke kringloop.

Like the dessert spoons I found in Belgium, or the old "Camera Obscura" books I found at my local thriftshop

En het oude karton met meters heel schattig kant met eendjes er op. Oh, en de kleedjes en lijsten natuurlijk, allemaal kringloopschatten!

And the piece of cardboard with lots of the most cutest lace with little ducks I've ever seen. Oh and the doilies and frames of course, all thriftshop treasures!

Oké van nu af aan smokkel ik een beetje! Ik hoop niet dat jullie het erg vinden, maar ik vind m'n laatste aankopen echt helemaal geweldig! Ik vond ze bij Peets schuurverkoop afgelopen zondag. De schoenenmalletjes en het krukje zijn zóóó mooi!

Okay, from now on I'm cheating a little! I hope you don't mind, but I lóóóve my latest purchases! I found them at Peets Barn sale last Sunday. The footstool and the shoe molds are so pretty!

Maar ha, de oude kaart en het kanten kleedje zijn wel echte kringloopschatten!
But ha, the old vintage card and the lace doily are really thrifshop treasures!

Net als de gehaakte kleedjes en het oude bordje. De kannen komen ook van Peet.

De damasten servetten heb ik eens kado gekregen, de schaal heb ik ook afgelopen zondag gekocht, maar hé, de kleedjes zijn wel weer kringloopaanwinsten!

The damask napkins were a gift, the bowl I bought too last Sunday, but hey, hey,the doilies are a thriftshopping purchase!

Zo simpel, zo eenvoudig, zóóó romantisch....zucht....!

So simple, so plain, sóóó romantic....sigh....!

Deze kleine kannetjes daarentegen zijn wel weer echte kringloopvondsten, het zijn zelfs echte Boch-jes, net als het peper- en zoutstelletje en de oude zakdoekjes. Oh, oeps, de schattige kleine schaaltjes komen ook weer van Peet!

These little jugs actually were thriftshop treasures, real Boch-ies, just like the salt and pepper set and vintage handkerchiefs. Oh, oops, the cutest little bowls were also from Peet!

Ik erfde de prachtige fotolijstjes, dus tellen niet mee. Ik (nu fluister ik, ik durf het amper meer hardop te zeggen!) kocht de mooie sloopjes ook afgelopen zondag.

I inherited the beautiful picture frames, so they don't count. I (now I'm whispering, I hardly don't dare to say it out loud) bought the beautiful cushion covers also last Sunday.

Ahhh... is het niet een plaatje?!? Gewoon wit katoen, met gewoon prachtig wit kant!

Ahhh.... isn't this gorgeous?!? Just white cotton, with just beautiful white lace!

Deze kleine schaaltjes zijn echt heel oud, ik vind het creme patina prachtig, achtergelaten door het jarenlange gebruik.

These little bowls are really old, I love the creamy patina, left through the years of use.

Het bruine koffertje is een kringlopertje, die ander, die rieten, nou ja dat zal ik maar niet meer zeggen (ik voel me nu zelfs een beetje beschaamd!), maar het heeft iets te maken met afgelopen zondag!

The little brown suitcase is a thriftshop one, the other, the wickered one, well, I won't tell it anymore (I feel a bit ashamed!), but it has something to do with last Sunday!

Ik kan gewoon kwijlen bij de aanblik van dit kleine hoekje in m'n woonkamer.... Oké, ik heb geen cent meer over, maar ach, je weet wat ze zeggen: je laatste jas heeft toch geen zakken, hahaha!!!!

I'm drooling at the sight of this little nook in my livingroom.... Okay I've no penny left anymore, but I'm the happiest girl in town!!!!

Zelfs de stoel is aangekleed met oude schatten. De mooie witte kussensloop, nou ja, je kunt wel raden waar die vandaan komt! De droogdoeken, ook die waar ik het eenvoudige en simpele kussenhoesje van gemaakt heb, komen bij Altijd Vrijdag Brocante vandaan, een heerlijke webwinkel vol brocante spulletjes!

The chair is covered with vintage treasures too. The lovely white cushion cover, well you can guess where I bought that one! The dish cloths, also the one from which I made this really easy and simple cushion cover, are from Altijd Vrijdag Brocante, a very pretty webshop, full of vintage stuff.

En zelfs de hondjes zijn 2e hands! Niet van de kringloop natuurlijk, haha! Luv you lieve schatjes!
