Dit was een weekje vol vriendschap

This was a week full of friendship

Als eerste ben ik bij Cindy in haar (inderdaad!) country huis op visite geweest.

Owww... zij is zo ontzettend lief en hartelijk en creatief en gul en nou ja... eigenlijk al het goede wat je maar bedenken kunt! Ik vind je echt geweldig lieffie! Ik heb deze dag van elke minuut genoten! En ik kwam gewoon ogen tekort om je huisje te bewonderen!

Ik heb ook haar aardige en ik-zal-de-bloemen-even-in-de-vaas-zetten-schat echtgenoot ontmoet (en deze bloemen had hij ook nog eens voor haar gekocht!). We hadden samen interessante gesprekken, ieder in z'n eigen taal. Hij praat behoorlijk "Utrechs" en ik praat, zoals hij dat noemde, aardig "Sonja Bakkerig"! Maar toch begrepen we elkaar!

En natuurlijk heb ik ook de lieve en knappe dochter des huizes ontmoet! Het was geweldig om jullie allemaal te leren kennen!

First of all I visited Cindy at her (indeed!) country home.

Owww... she's sóóó sweet and lovely and creative and generous and well... everything nice you can think of! Love you so much sweetie! I enjoyed every minut of this day! I love your cosy home!

I also met her very kind and I'll-putting-the-flowers-in-the-vase-honey husband (he also bought the flowers for her too!). We had some interesting conversations in our own languages! He talks pretty "Utrechs"and I'm talking, as he calls it, a bit "Sonja Bakker-ish"! But we understood each other!

And of course I've met Jody, the pretty and lovely daughter of the house! It was great meeting you all!

En we hebben geprobeerd een mooi projektje te maken, maar ik denk dat Cindy denkt dat een dag 48 uur heeft..... of kletsten we gewoon teveel???

And we tried to make a lovely project, but I think Cindy thinks a day has 48 hours..... or did we just chat too much???

En ze liet met niet met lege handen naar huis gaan, deze cup cake standaard was gevuld met allemaal lieve kadootjes

And she didn't let me go home empty handed, this cup cake stand was filled with all kinds of sweet presents

Kijk! Ze heeft voor mij ook dit prachtige friendship-zakje gemaakt! En het kaarsje ruikt echt zalig!

Look! She made me this gorgeous friendship bag! And the little candle smells sóóó good!

En ze is ook de vogeltjes niet vergeten!

And she didn't forget the birds!

En de kinderen!

And the kids!

Laat onze vriendschap net zo warm en vol licht zijn als dit kaarsje!

"Friends Make Your Days Twinkle"! Need I say more?

Maar er waren nog een paar meiden die mijn dag helemaal goed gemaakt hebben! Dit mooie hart in de prachtige verpakking kreeg ik van Annemiek tijdens de Brocant Fair. Ik heb het nog steeds niet uitgepakt, vind het zo mooi zo!

But there were a few other girls who made my day! This beautiful heart and gorgeous wrapping I got from Annemiek, on the day of the Brocante Fair. I've still unpacked it, I like it so much this way!

En afgelopen week bracht de postbode dit geweldige kerst ornament, gemaakt door Jeanet! Ik ben er helemaal verliefd op!

And last week the mailman delivered this beautiful Christmas ornament, made by Jeanet! I love it!

En ze stuurde me ook nog eens dit prachtige en heel mooi gemaakte lucifersdoosje, ben ik verwend of wat???

And she sent me this very pretty and beautifully made matchbox, well am I spoiled or what???

Ik hoop jullie allemaal weer gauw te zien, maar onze computer heeft rare kuren en daarom zal ik een paar dagen (weken???) off line zijn

I hope to see you soon girls, but our computer is damaged, so I'll be off line for a couple of days (weeks???)

Dus mocht ik niet meer in staat zijn om voor de kerst te posten, dan wens ik jullie bij deze alvast "God Jul", zalig kerstfeest!

Het was inderdaad een weekje om blij van te worden

It was a happy week indeed

En ik ben ook nog een beetje creatief geweest

And I was a little creative too

Heb deze schattige vogeltjes gemaakt

Made these cute birds

En deze sneeuwerige mannetjes
And these two snowy fellows

Zien ze er niet droppig uit?

Dit wordt m'n laatste handwerkje voor deze winter, als deze af is ga ik over op lente dingen!

This will be my last winter craft for now, when finished I'm gonna make spring things!

Tussen haakjes, dit zijn allemaal goedkope en eenvoudige decoraties om te maken. Het enige dat je nodig hebt voor de vogeltjes is een stukje grijsboard (van b.v. verpakkingsmateriaal), oud muziekpapier, een bladzijde uit een oud boekje (beiden voor een paar dubbeltjes gekocht bij de kringloop), een stukje touw om ze op te hangen en een patroontje (zelf getekend, uit een kleurboek, of van het internet). Oh en natuurlijk lijm!

Voor de sneeuwpopjes heb je nodig, een stukje witte katoen, garen, opvulspul, aquarelpotlood of verf, een cocktail prikker voor de neus en 2 knoopjes. Het patroon komt uit Tilda's "Crafting Christmas ideas" (gekocht bij Your Zoap). Oké dat laatste is misschien in eerste instantie niet heel goedkoop, maar het boekje staat weer boordevol superleuke decoraties en plaatjes, dus echt een boekje om telkens weer door te bladeren!

Voor de stitcherie heb je slechts borduurgaren, een stukje witte katoen en een patroontje van internet nodig.

BTW, these are all very inexpensive and simple decorations to make. All you need for the birds is a piece of cardboard (p.e. packaging material), old music sheet, pages of an old book (both bought at the thriftshop for a few pennies), a piece of rope to hang them and a pattern (drawn by yourself, from a color book or printed from the internet). Oh and glue of course!

For the snowmen you need a piece of white fabric, yarn, stuffing, aquarel pencil or paint, a cocktail stick for the nose and 2 buttons. The pattern is from the Tilda "Crafting Christmas ideas" (bought at Your Zoap). Okay the last item might not be very cheap, but it's a wonderful book, full of lovely patterns and pictures. You'll see you'll glancing through it over and over again!

For the stitchery you only need embroidery yarn, a piece of white cotton and a pattern from the internet.

Winter inside

Owwww mijn hemel... wat is het kóúd buiten! En daarom ga ik dus niet naar buiten! Ik vind het heerlijk om binnen te blijven en om door het raam te genieten van het mooie winterwonderland!
Owwww my gosh... it's sóóó cold outside! That's why I don't go outside! I love to stay inside and enjoy the beautiful winterwonderland throught the windows!

Vanaf de dag dat ik besloot om van ons huisje een winterhuis te maken is het gaan sneeuwen en vriezen en dat doet het nog steeds. Toeval? Of had het gewoon zo moeten zijn?

From the day I decided to make my home a winterhome, the snow and freezing started and are still going on. Coincidence? Or is this how it's meant to be?

Hoe dan ook, ik geniet van de gezelligheid van ons huisje en creëer binnen mijn eigen winterwonderland

Anyhow, I enjoy the cosyness of our home and I'm creating my own winterwonderland inside.

Volgende keer wil ik een kussen met stitchery maken, duim maar voor me! Yep, ik begin wat overmoedig te raken zoals jullie kunnen zien! Maar eerst wil ik nog een paar schaatsjes maken, en een paar sneeuwpopjes, en een tilda pop en, en.... Zo veel dingen, zo weinig tijd! Ik ga me opsluiten in huis de komende dagen, de weermannen voorspellen dat het extreem koud gaat worden voorlopig, dus ik weet wat ik te doen heb!
Next time I'll make a cushion with stitchery, wish me luck! Yep, I'm getting a little bit reckless as you see! But first I wanna make a pair of ice skates, a few snowmen, a Tilda doll and, and.... So many things, so little time! I'm gonna lock me up in the house the coming days, the weathermen told us the next days will be extremely cold, so I know what I've to do!

Good intentions

Elk jaar doe ik het weer en ook elk jaar mislukt het jammerlijk: m'n goede voornemens. Daarom heb ik besloten om het dit jaar enkel bij leuke voornemens te houden. En deze staan bovenaan m'n lijstje:

Every year I do it again and every year it goes pityful wrong: my good intentions. That's why I decided to make only nice intentions. And these are above my list:

Use my craft books

Eindelijk eens m'n hobbyboeken gebruiken in plaats van alleen maar plaatjes kijken. En zoals jullie zien is dit voornemen al een aardig eindje op weg met deze sneeuwpopjes uit het Tilda kerstboek.

Finally use my craft books instead of only looking at the pictures. And as you can see, this intention is pretty on it's way with these cute little snowmen from the Tilda Christmas book.

En weet je wat nou zo leuk is?

Stitch along

Ik heb pas stitchery ontdekt en owww..... dit is echt verslavend en o zo leuk! Ik heb me voorgenomen om me heerlijk over te geven aan deze, voor mij, nieuwe manier van borduren.
I discovered stitchery just lately and owww.... this is really addictive and o so much fun! I've made the intention to surrender completely to this, for me, new way of embroidery.

En dit is m'n 2e poging. Al werd ik hier wat overmoedig door er een soort van eenvoudig quiltje van te maken, wat dus ook niet geheel gelukt is! Het fiberfill zit niet zoals het hoort en ook de stof loopt niet lekker. Het lieve patroontje komt van de site van Cindy, dank je wel, ik vond het heel leuk om te maken! Jullie moeten echt eens op haar blog kijken, ze maakt de meest mooie quiltjes, stitcheries en superschattige popjes!
And this is my 2nd. attempt. Although I became a little bit too reckless with this one, by making a sort of little quilt of it, and it didn't work out so well! The fiberfill didn't stay on it's place and I haven't sewed the fabric very neat (although I tried!). The sampler is from Cindy's, thank you, I liked it very much, making this one! You have to take a look on her blog, she makes the most gorgeous little quilts, stitcheries and the most cute little dolls!

Maar ik heb de smaak te pakken, heb al een nieuwe stitchery klaar liggen. En ach, door schade en schande wordt men wijs zal ik maar zeggen!

Vandaag de laatste dag van de kerstvakantie, morgen begint het gestructureerde leventje weer. Ik zal het heerlijke relaxen en het niks moeten missen, maar aan de andere kant is een beetje regelmaat ook wel weer lekker. Alle kerstspullen zijn opgeborgen, nu is het tijd voor ons winterhuis. Ik wil me niet laten meeslepen door de ietwat mistroostige kanten van de maanden januari en februari, niet hardlopend door naar de lente, maar juist genieten van deze knusse en behaaglijke wintermaanden. Doen jullie met me mee?

Oh en nog bedankt voor alle beterschapwensen, het heeft geholpen, ik voel me echt stukken beter nu!
But I've acquired a taste for it, and I've already a new stitchery put ready. Well and you know it, bought wit is best!
Today is the last day of the Christmas vacation, tomorrow structured life starts again. I'll miss the relaxing and the don't-have-to-do-anything-days, but some regularity is nice too. All the Christmas decorations are put away, now it's time for our winter-home. I don't want to be dragged along with the dull sides of the months January and February, but just want to enjoy the warm and cosy winter months. Just look at the bright side! Do you join me?

Oh and thanks for all your get-well-wishes, it helped me really, I'm feeling much better now!
